ScanBalt™ fmba (in short ScanBalt) is the organisation for the Baltic Sea Region Life science community, named ScanBalt BioRegion.

ScanBalt is a not-for-profit member association which serves as a service provider for the members and promotes ScanBalt BioRegion as a globally competitive Green Valley and Health Region.

The regional/national networks and clusters together with public authorities, industries and hospitals constitute the basis for ScanBalt. ScanBalt is a mediating, coordinating and communicating umbrella and/or platform.

The secretariat is located in Copenhagen (Denmark) while liaison offices are located in Tartu (Estonia), Gdansk (Poland) and Rostock (Germany).

Main activities of ScanBalt:

  To promote projects, business and research
• To promote visibility and branding
• To promote policy issues, regional innovation and cluster development

EDA signed the cooperation agreement on April 2010.
