In order to draw a public attention to questions which are related to environmental education both in schools and whole society, Environmental Development Association and the National Botanic Garden of Latvia organized a seminar which was dedicated to different technologies and solutions in educating society on biodiversity.
On October 28, 2013 a seminar “Technologies and their use in educating society on biodiversity” was held in Riga and organized within the Estonia-Latvia cross-border cooperation programme project “SMARTGARDENS” or “Innovative botanical gardens”. The event brought together more than 100 participants and was attended by teachers, specialists from Nature Conservation Agency, representatives of non-governmental sector and institutions such as Natural History Museum of Latvia, the National Botanic Garden of Latvia, Latvia’s State Forests, as well as representatives of the press.
